What is Flatbed? A Flatbed Truck is a large vehicle with a flat body and no sides or roof around the bed. Typically, these types of trucks are used to transport heavy loads that won't be compromised in bad weather or on rough roads. Its unique bed design is ideal for loads that would be too wide for a truck with an enclosed body. 

A standard flatbed trailer typically runs between 48 to 53 feet long, 8.5 feet wide, with a bed that sits at 42''- 60'' high, and 5 feet tall.

Straps can be tightened on a flatbed truck by using a technique such as trucker's hitch, and the bed of the truck has hooks for this purpose. Weather protection is optionally provided by manually 'sheeting' the load with a tarpaulin, held down by ropes
